Quality Management System
As Medipol Hospitals, our Quality Management System has been established in line with JCI and the Ministry of Health’s Healthcare Quality Standards. Medipol Mega University Hospital was accredited in 2014 and earned the right to receive the JCI accreditation certificate.
Medipol Mega University Hospital, Istanbul Medipol Hospital, Bahçelievler Hospital, Esenler, Sefaköy, Çamlıca, Pendik, Unkapanı, and Vatan Health Application and Research Centers are evaluated according to the Ministry of Health’s Healthcare Quality Standards.
Joint Commission International (JCI)
JCI, the oldest accreditation body in the healthcare sector, was founded in 1951 as the “Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals” (JCAH) with the participation of the American College of Surgeons, American College of Physicians, American Hospital Association, American Medical Association, and the Canadian Medical Association.
Starting from 1994, JCI began providing accreditation services to healthcare institutions worldwide via JCAH, and today it operates in more than one hundred countries. Joint Commission International (JCI) defines, measures, and shares best practices in the fields of quality and patient safety worldwide. In addition, JCI published its Academic Medical Center Standards in 2012. Hospitals providing education and research services that wish to be accredited have been audited and accredited according to these standards as of January 1, 2013.
The standards for Medical Professional Education and Human Subjects Research Programs for Academic Medical Center Hospitals have been published for centers and institutions providing such services. These standards also provide a framework not only for quality and patient-safety activities in Academic Medical Center Hospitals, but also for medical education and research conducted on human subjects. At Medipol Mega University Hospital, which provides medical education, all of these standards began to be implemented as of 2013.
Medipol Mega University Hospital became, on March 1, 2014, the 32nd university hospital in the world to meet the Academic Medical Center Hospital standards audited by JCI (Joint Commission International Accreditation). Our institution is the first hospital in the country to earn this certificate at an international level.
Ministry of Health – Healthcare Quality Standards
The Healthcare Quality Standards have been developed to define the targeted level of quality for all healthcare institutions and organizations providing services in Türkiye and to offer guidance for implementation. They are also regularly audited by evaluators from the Ministry of Health.
HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society)
HIMSS is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1961 in the United States with the aim of ensuring the optimal use of information technologies in the delivery and development of healthcare services.
Medipol Mega University Hospital, which provides its patients with high-quality healthcare services supported by a digital infrastructure and information technologies, became Türkiye’s first and only private hospital to receive the HIMSS Stage 6 certificate as a result of the digital hospital evaluation studies carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and HIMSS in December 2017.
